Can I live in prefectural housing?。
I would like to apply for Prefectural housing. What documents should I prepare?


Can I live in prefectural housing?

  Foreigners can live in Prefectural housing if they meet the eligibility requirements listed below.
  1. You reside or work in Aichi Prefecture.
  2. You have family members or relatives to live with.
  3. It is evident that you have difficulty finding housing.
  4. Your income conforms to the income standard stipulated by the Housing Supply Public Corporation.
  In addition to the above, a foreigner must possess any of the following statuses of residence:
  1. Permanent resident, the spouse or children of permanent resident
  2. Special permanent resident
  3. Spouse or child of a Japanese national
  4. Long-term resident
  New openings are announced via newspapers, radio broadcasts, telephone service (TEL 052-971-4118) and other media. During the announcement period, get an application form at designated distribution centers (management offices of respective housing complexes, respective municipal offices excluding that of Nagoya City etc), and submit it.

  Housing application submission places differ depending on the location of the housing, so be sure to check.

I would like to apply for Prefectural housing. What documents should I prepare?


  The necessary documents are as follows.
  1. An application form for prefectural housing
  2. Certificates of registered matters on original Certificates of Alien Registration for all family members
  3. Copies of both sides of Certificates of Alien Registration for all family members
  4. Latest income certificate issued by the head of the relevant municipality (for family with income)
  5. Latest certification of facts for non-taxation issued by the head of the relevant municipality (for family without income)
  6. A copy of the lease agreement for housing or certificate of completion of housing rent payments or the like (for family currently living in apartment or rental house)
