A permanent residency visa has no restrictions on period or activities
until a foreigner granted this status of residence departs Japan. General
requirements for the permanent residence are as follows, however, some
requirements maybe lightened up depending on the current status of residence.
- He or she maintains good conduct.
- He or she has financial resources or technical skills to maintain an independent livelihood.
- His or her obtaining Japanese Permanent Residency will benefit Japan (In
principle he or she must have lived in Japan over 10 years, must not have
been sentenced to a fine or imprisonment, must fulfuill his or her public
responsibility such as tax payment.)
The processing for the visa can be carried out at Nagoya Regional Immigration
