皆さんは近い将来必ず発生すると言われている「東海地震」を知ってますか？地震についての知識や備えによって、自分たちの命を守ったり、被害を小さくすることができます。今回から毎月１回、地震についての情報を提供していきます。

「東海地震」ではどんな被害が予想されるのでしょうか？愛知県内の一部の地域では震度6弱以上の揺れが予想されています。この場合人が立っていることが困難になり、屋内では、固定していない家具の多くが転倒し、家がゆがんで、ドアが開かなくなったりします。屋外では一部の建物が倒壊したり、窓ガラスが破損し、落下する危険があるので慌てて外に出ることはやめましょう。ガスや水道も使えなくなり、停電もします。

まず「落ち着いて行動する」ことが大切です。

揺れを感じたらクッションなどで頭を守り、テーブルの下にもぐりましょう。外にいる時もカバンなどで頭を守り、公園などの安全な場所に避難しましょう。また海岸では津波が来ることがあるので高い所に避難しましょう。

そして地震の後恐いのは火災です。火の始末は必ずしましょう。「懐中電灯」、「厚底スリッパ」、「笛（ホイッスル）」は枕もとにおいておくと便利です。
