Injury or illness at work
Irrespective of nationality, if a worker is injured while at work, medical
bills and other costs are covered by Workers' Compensation Insurance. Matters
covered are illness, injury, disability, or death as a result of work or
travel to and from work. If your employer will not give you Workers' Compensation
Insurance coverage, please consult either the Labor Standards Bureau with
jurisdiction over your company or the Aichi Labor Bureau Advisor for Foreign
Workers (052-972-0253, in English or Portuguese). Trainees who have entered
the country on a trainee visa and workers who do not have an employment
contract with their company are not covered by Workers' Compensation Insurance.
