Deductions from wages
The only deductions that companies are permitted to make from salaries
are those set out by law such as tax and national insurance payments. Even
if workers themselves agree, ambiguous deductions such as "management
fees" are actually illegitimate. It is forbidden for companies to
make deductions from wages for items such as air fares to Japan, loans,
and damage caused to a company by an individual.
